Conference conclusions:
The conference outlined key challenges and strategic priorities for the development of court law in Ukraine in the context of European integration. In particular:
• Special attention was paid to transitional justice as a comprehensive tool for overcoming impunity, restoring justice, and strengthening trust in state institutions. Participants emphasized the need to develop a clear national strategy in this area, taking into account international standards and ensuring the participation of victims in justice processes.
• The experiences of EU candidate countries — particularly Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina — in implementing judicial reforms were actively discussed. The importance of interstate exchange of experience, especially regarding cooperation with European institutions, implementation of the acquis communautaire, ensuring judicial independence, and reforming justice institutions was stressed.
• The importance of digitalization of justice as a prerequisite for effective, open, and inclusive access to justice, especially in cross-border disputes, was highlighted.
• The need for institutional resilience of the judiciary under martial law was emphasized, particularly through the implementation of professional standards, integrity mechanisms, and effective management.
• Conference participants expressed a joint view on the importance of integrating legal research into judicial reform practices, which should contribute to the formation of a fair and efficient justice system in Ukraine.
